NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF BARRIE
*************************
During the city’s Spring Into Clean events, held from April 21 to 23, close to 17,000 members of the Barrie community collected a total of 6.47 tonnes of litter from approximately 140 locations throughout the city, including parks, trails, roadways and public spaces.

This was approximately 1.6 tonnes more than what was collected in 2022.

Participants included residents, students and staff from elementary and secondary schools, and businesses in Barrie.

The annual Spring Into Clean event occurs during Earth Week and is designed to clean up our community while raising levels of environmental awareness and social responsibility. Participants were provided with gloves and collection bags to support in the clean-up efforts.

The city would like to thank Glen Martin Limited for their support in providing supplies for this event.
