Small-town fight ends in serious charges for two, hospitalization for one alleged victim

TAY TOWNSHIP – On November 16, 2015 at 2:31 p.m. members of the Southern Georgina Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Fourth Ave in Tay Township after a 911 call was received from a male victim.

A physical altercation had taken place between four males.

Two male victims received minor injuries.

One 47 year old male victim was transported by Simcoe County Paramedics to Georgian Bay General Hospital where he was later flown by Ornge to a Toronto area Hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

As a result of an investigation by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP crime unit, two males have been charged.

Robert JENKINS (age 56) of Tay Township has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has been held for a bail hearing in Barrie on November 18, 2015.

James D. RUSH (age 55) of Tay Township has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose contrary to the criminal Code of Canada

The accused with appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on December 10, 2015.
