The Travelodge sign at the Bayfield Street and Highway 400 southbound on-ramp was damaged by the heavy winds during Sunday afternoon's storm.
The sign was noticeably bent after 4 p.m.
Police were on the scene to divert traffic away in case the sign collapsed.
Workers arrived at 5:15 p.m. to begin repairing or taking the sign down.
Police blocked the Bayfield Street southbound ramp until the work is complete.
