Regional Tourism Organization looking for new directors

The region's tourism organization is looking for four new board members. 

Regional Tourism Organization 7 (RTO7) will be looking for four people from Bruce, Grey, or Simcoe Counties to help fill the rolls of three directors completing their four-term commitments and one director who is retiring early from the board. 

The role of the board is to support the organization's work in tourism with strategic oversight. Anyone from those three counties is welcome to apply. 

According to a news release from the organization, ideal candidates will have some or all of the following skill sets relevant to tourism: 

  • Research
  • HR/labour relations/workforce development
  • Communications
  • Risk mitigation
  • Media relations
  • Accounting/finance
  • Economic development
  • Organizational leadership
  • Environmental social governance

RTO7’s industry-led, volunteer board is responsible for providing direction to the organization in fulfillment of the organization’s mission, which is “to work collaboratively with tourism partners and stakeholders to build, sustain and grow visitation, investment, and visitor spending."

"As a board member, you will play a vital role in guiding our organization toward sustainable and ethical practices that align with our mission," states the RTO7 news release. "Ideal candidates will have a strong background in environmental social governance and experience in areas such as sustainability, governance, and stakeholder engagement."
