Police say suspects stuffed clothing into their purses

Thefts occurred Saturday at Reitmans on Bayfield Street

Barrie Police are seeking the identity of two suspects involved in a theft from Reitmans, located at 498 Bayfield Street in Barrie.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019, the two suspects were browsing in the store, and rejected offers of assistance from store staff, choosing instead to move to areas of the store with no staff present.

After reviewing surveillance footage, the suspects could be seen removing clothing items from hangers and placing them in a purse, before leaving and making no attempt to pay for the items.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1

  • Female, dark skin
  • Aged 30's or 40's
  • Approximately 5'3” tall, heavy build
  • Short dark hair on the sides, with a longer red stripe down the center of her head
  • Wearing grey and navy track pants and a t-shirt

Suspect #2

  • Female, dark skin
  • Aged early 30's
  • Approximately 5'6” tall, medium build
  • Long dark curly hair
  • Wearing black pants and a "Fila" sweater
