Police looking for some weird guy who has been stealing truck batteries

Police say a suspect may have burn marks on his right arm as a result of an electrical shock

On Thursday, November 12, 2015 police were called to the area of Morrow Road, in the City of Barrie, after receiving reports of battery thefts.

Multiple businesses within the industrial area had reported batteries missing from their dump trucks or transport trucks that had been parked on their sites.

The batteries that were removed are larger than regular sized car batteries and substantially heavier.

Video surveillance captures the male reversing his truck up to nearby vehicles, then removing the batteries and placing them into the back of his pick-up truck.

The investigation is ongoing and video will be released as it becomes available.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as:

  • Burgundy in colour
  • Late model crew cab Ford F150 XLT

The suspect is described as:

  • 55-60 years
  • Medium build
  • May have burn marks on his right arm as a result of an electrical shock.
