Pedestrian's name released in traffic fatality

Police say it appears no charges will be laid, but the investigation is ongoing

On Sunday, November 8, 2015 @ 5:34pm Police were called to Bayfield Street, just south of Hanmer Street in regards to a pedestrian stuck by a vehicle. 

45-year-old Barrie male, John Jeffries of no fixed address, succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center.

At initial investigation, it appears no charges will be laid but the Barrie Police Collision Reconstruction Team are continuing their investigation at this time. 

Police are seeking the assistance of anyone who may have witnessed the incident and currently canvassing is being done at local businesses for possible video surveillance.
