One new COVID case, one classroom closure at Ardagh Bluffs school today

An outbreak at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil has ballooned to 19 cases following four new cases

There are five new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today.

Currently, there are 41 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Oct. 21.

Four new COVID-19 cases are being reported at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil, and there are two new classroom closures today. This adds to 15 cases and nine classroom closures already reported at the school.

Ardagh Bluffs Public School in Barrie is reporting one new case and one classroom closure.

According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 34 active cases spread across 10 schools:

  • 19 cases at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil with 11 classrooms closed
  • Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case
  • Two cases at St. Bernadette Catholic School in Barrie, with two classroom closures
  • One case at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie
  • Four cases at St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford
  • One case at St. Mary's Catholic School in Collingwood, with one classroom closed
  • One case at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Bradford, with one classroom closed
  • One case at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie
  • Three cases and five classroom closures at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Barrie
  • One case at St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie, two classroom closures

The health unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at St. Marie of the Incarnation on Oct. 1, and Holy Cross Catholic School on Oct. 15, which are both still active.

At the Simcoe County District School Board, they are currently reporting seven active cases spread across seven schools:

  • Algonquin Ridge Elementary School has one case
  • Ardagh Bluffs Public School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure
  • Hillsdale Elementary School has one case, and one classroom closure
  • Mundy's Bay Public School in Midland has one case and one classroom closure
  • Tottenham Public School in Tottenham has one case and one classroom closure
  • Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie is also reporting a case
  • Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School in Angus has one case
