SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE

*************************
On November 21, 2015, at approximately 8:15 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a call from a local bar in Bradford.

Police were told that a male had come into the bar intoxicated and when he was refused alcohol he got up to leave.

Management of the establishment offered to call him a cab, but he refused and continued to leave the bar.

The male was followed out to his vehicle and again told not to drive.

The individual started his vehicle up and drove into a lamp post.

Employees from the bar opened the door and removed the keys from the ignition.

Police attended shortly after and detected a strong odour of alcohol on the males breath.

The 50-year-old male from Newmarket was arrested for Impaired Care and Control.

The male was transported to the South Simcoe Police station where he blew three times over the legal limit.

He was released (when sober) on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance court date in December.

No one was injured during the incident.
