Man loses truck, charged with cocaine possession

ORO-MEDONTE - On Friday, November 20 at 9:04 p.m. a member of the public reported a Black Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling westbound on highway 12 in Oro-Medonte Township.

The vehicle was reported to be weaving all over the road and an occupant was observed throwing a beer can out the window.    

Officers from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the vehicle. 

A roadside test was administered which the driver failed. 

The man was arrested and a subsequent search revealed him to be in possession of cocaine.

He was transported to the Barrie detachment for further tests.  

30-year-old Adam BLOOR of Orillia, Ontario was charged Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – cocaine.

His licence was suspended for a period of 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and his motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  

The accused will be making his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on December 7, 2015.
