A 31-year-old man who was pulled from a house fire in Barrie's west end earlier this month has died in hospital.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator confirmed the man died Jan. 8 at a Toronto-area trauma centre.
Emergency crews responded to a basement fire at 19 Mowat Cres., near Leacock Drive and Browning Trail, shortly before 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
First-responders found the victim without vital signs. He was revived before being rushed to local hospital and then taken to Toronto for further care.
The fire was contained to the basement of the multi-unit residential home.
Tenants in the upper level were able to escape the building unharmed.
