COLLINGWOOD - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit have charged a Collingwood man following a seven month child pornography investigation.
On November 12, 2015 police from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Technological Crime Unit and the Collingwood OPP Detachment executed a search warrant at a Collingwood residence.
As a result of this investigation, two computer devices and other items pertinent to the investigation were seized. Some of the items seized contained files of child sexual abuse.
Shane Michael POYNER, age 32 years, of Collingwood, Ontario is charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and three counts of Accessing Child Pornography.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing today, November 12, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
