The Circle at the Centre ice rink at City Hall is scheduled to open for pleasure skating today.
The rink is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. weather-permitting.
The rink is for pleasure skating only. Hockey is not permitted. The site offers parking and heated change rooms. Hours are dependent upon weather conditions and are subject to change.
The brand new Centennial Park Community Ice Rink on Lakeshore Drive is tentatively scheduled to open Dec. 21.
The power at the rink was energized by Alectra this week. The ice rink lighting was installed. Installation of the boards and fencing started Friday. The remaining electrical work for the rink ice making will be completed on Monday or Tuesday.
In order to recognize the generous private donations as well as the Ontario 150 Grant related to the Basketball Court and Ice Rink construction, an official opening is being planned for early in 2018 (date TBD).
