Dental office grills up support for the Barrie Food Bank (6 photos)

Simcoe Family Dentistry ran community barbecue in support of the food bank on Saturday

Simcoe Family Dentistry decided to give back this weekend.

The dental practice held its second annual community barbecue on Saturday, in support of the Barrie Food Bank.

A non-perishable food item got attendees a free burger and refreshments, a raffle ticket, live music and entrance to a bouncy castle for the kids.

“This is all in support of the Barrie Food Bank. We did this last year as well,” said Janet Geisel, organizer and office manager with Simcoe Family Dentistry. “They’re an organization that’s always in need in this city. I think... a lot of people donate closer to Christmas and by mid-year they’re kind of running out of supplies.”

Geisel said the practice was hoping to see 100 attendees this year.

Prizes for the raffle were donated by Beaver Rock Coffee, Quesada on Bayfield and Joe's No Frills.
