Couchiching Jubilee House is excited to announce that the organization has joined Redwood Park Communities, formalizing their collaborative relationship to increase the capacity of both organizations to create more safe, affordable, hopeful housing where people thrive in community.
“We are thrilled to welcome the CJH team to Redwood,” states Tim Kent, Redwood’s CEO. “Our two organizations are very much aligned in our mission and our way of working in the community. CJH is looking to grow their capacity, and Redwood is making plans to collaborate with Raising the Roof on their Peter Street housing project, so the timing is perfect for us to come together to support the affordable housing needs in Orillia.”
CJH executive director Bre Lefeuvre is excited about the possibilities that joining the larger organization will bring for her Orillia-based team, and is quick to reassure their supporters that as far as service delivery is concerned in Orillia, very little is changing.
“Donations made to CJH projects and services will stay in Orillia. Our commitment to local, home-grown solutions to the housing affordability crisis and the needs of our residents hasn’t changed. Joining Redwood just enables us to expand what we offer more efficiently and effectively.”
And there are benefits to Redwood, too.
“We can’t wait to roll out some learnings and offerings from the CJH team in our current residences, such as United House and Lucy’s Place,” notes Rhonda Kent, Redwood’s director of housing and supportive community. “The residents in our housing here in Barrie will benefit from this, and the CJH staff bring a skillset that really complements where we are headed as an organization.
