The city’s Business in the Parks program has been extended until Dec. 31, 2023 for Meridian Place, Sunnidale Park, and the Kiwanis Pavilion at Southshore Park.

The program provides businesses the opportunity to reserve space for a set time in the designated public parks for activities such as classes, workshops, and meetings.

Eligibility criteria

  • Business must provide proof of insurance for your commercial operation from an insurer licensed to do business in Ontario. The Corporation of the City of Barrie must be named as an additional insured;
  • Activity cannot be based around serving or preparing food, beverage (including alcohol) or cannabis products;
  • Must provide an emergency plan that addresses medical emergencies and weather contingencies based on the nature of the activity.

Booking fees are $75 plus HST for a half-day or up to six hours of booking time and $100 plus HST for a full day or up to 12 hours of booking time. Interested applicants who meet the above criteria are invited to apply online to book a park. Eligible applicants must submit their application a minimum of 15 business days prior to their requested date for consideration.
