Barrie Christmas Cheer gets set to rock

The Fred Grant Squares are putting the fun in fund-raising with their ‘Fredstockmas Matinee’ happening at Sticky Fingers Bar and Grill, Dunlop Street West, 1:30 p.m., Saturday December 5.

Including brothers Scott and Kevin Harradine; brothers Don and Bruce Cameron; and drummer brothers Ian and Hugh Black, they’ll be known for this event as ‘The Band of Brothers’.

“It's going to be a ton of fun,” said lead singer Scott Harradine. “We've played an annual Sticky's Christmas show for nine years running. And, in keeping with tradition, we've also got good friend David James Bowen joining us on stage. He's a great singer, guitar player. Factor that in with the Barrie Christmas Cheer drive, the festive atmosphere at Sticky's, and it should be a great afternoon for a great cause, plus more ‘special guest’ announcements to come!!!"

Harradine's reference to Barrie Christmas Cheer is a reminder of the important toy drive and fund-raising going on that day.

“We’re asking people to bring an unwrapped toy, canned food item, gift card or a cash donation,” said Harradine. “So that more local kids and their families can have a nice Christmas morning.”

The Band of Brothers: reminding one and all, especially at this time of year, that we really are family.
