The 2016 Honda Civic Sedan, built at the plant in Alliston, has been voted the Best New Small Car of the Year by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).

The 10th generation Civic beat out the Toyota Yaris Sedan, and Volkswagen Jetta 1.4TSI for top honours

Canada’s top-selling car for the past 17 years, the Civic was redesigned for 2016, boasting an all-new chassis and the first turbo engine ever offered in a Canadian-market Honda.

It will now compete for the overall Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year awards, to be announced at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto in February, 2016.

Honda of Canada Manufacturing also created the processes and tooling followed at Honda plants in Japan.
