Barrie police marking Crime Prevention Week with slate of events

The week of Nov. 6 to 12 marks Crime Prevention Week in Ontario.

This year the Barrie police have a week full of community events to highlight the provincial theme “Safer. Stronger. Together” and we will be highlighting the collaborative efforts between police services and community organizations to prevent crime and keep our communities safe.

The public is invited to join us at any of the Crime Prevention Week events taking place next week.

Monday, Nov. 7, 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Georgian Mall, 509 Bayfield St.

Seniors outreach with the Prevention of Seniors Abuse Network

Join officer Shannon and officer Julie for the kick-off to Crime Prevention week. They’ll be taking part in an indoor walking group at Georgian Mall and sharing information for seniors on preventing crimes.

Community safety survey and community outreach

Stop by the Painswick library and say hi and learn more about our community safety survey.

We’ll be at Sobeys to help collect food in support of the Barrie Food Bank.
