Barrie firefighters quickly douse north-end blaze

'Nobody was injured and there was no damage to any homes,' says fire official; Structure contained sauna

What caused a structure fire in the city's north end last night is still unknown, but it was quickly brought under control.

Barrie Fire received a call Tuesday, Nov. 22 around 9 p.m., for a shed fire on Lyfytt Crescent, near Livingstone and Kozlov streets.

Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Justin Gilbert told BarrieToday the structure was a sauna.

“Nobody was injured and there was no damage to any homes,” Gilbert said.

“The fire was quickly extinguished and we don't know the cause yet," he added.
