So far, the province says asymptomatic testing clinics in schools across Simcoe County have turned up no COVID-19 cases.
As of March 19, the province is reporting that no cases have yet been identified through the voluntary asymptomatic testing being done in Simcoe County schools.
According to the province’s reporting, 290 tests were completed as part of the Simcoe County District School Board’s second clinic, held on March 11 at Eastview Secondary School.
Over at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, 170 tests were completed at their second clinic on March 10 at St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School.
There have been zero positive results reported by the province through any of the clinics.
Follow up questions posed by Village Media to the province on the Simcoe County testing results were not answered.
Through the Simcoe County District School Board, next week’s asymptomatic testing clinic will be taking place on Thursday, Mar. 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nantyr Shores Secondary School at 1146 Anna Maria Avenue in Innisfil. Students and staff from Alcona Glen Elementary School, Goodfellow Public School, Innisfil Central Public School, Lake Simcoe Public School, and Simcoe Shores Secondary School (Innisfil location) are also eligible to attend.
Through the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, next week’s asymptomatic testing clinic will be taking place on Wednesday, Mar. 24 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic High School at 100 Melborne Drive in Bradford. Students from St. Charles Catholic School, St. Angela Merici Catholic School, St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic School, St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School and St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School are also eligible to attend.
