31st Annual M*A*S*H Bash at Snow Valley

Bed pan races, tug of war part of the fun

The 31st annual M*A*S*H Bash ski and snowboard day was held Friday at Snow Valley Ski Resort in support of RVH's Child and Youth Mental Health services.

RVH President and CEO Janice Skot said a "very big thank you" to all participants which included military personnel from CFB Borden, Doo Doo the Clown and local media celebrities.

The winner of the media/celebrity race was Liz Hunter, Fresh Radio's promotions manager.

Pita Pete went to the winner's circle in the mascot bedpan race by flattening the competition to nab first place.

"It's one of our craziness events at Snow Valley every year. This is a great way, not just to involve the community, but it's our version of trying to give back," said Peter Hanney, assistant general manager, Snow Valley.

The South Springwater Firefighter's Association took home the trophy In a well-fought Tug of War with CFB Borden.

Over more than three decades, M*A*S*H Bash has raised more than $520,000 for RVH and patient care.

Organizers were hoping to beat last year's amount of $20,000.

"It's a fundraising event but it's also awareness of the realities of what the youth and mental health program is trying to do at RVH," said Hanney. "It's important to have that awareness."
