Anna Goldsmith just released her new single, 'Shine'.

Fourteen-year-old Innisfil resident and musical theatre artist Anna Goldsmith has just released her new single, Shine

Goldsmith says she was inspired to write Shine by a short film she co-starred in called Sara Snow and the Seven Dancers. She wrote and recorded the song at age 13, and has an album in the works.

Goldsmith worked with fellow songwriter Jennifer Simpson who helped to polish and trim the song and helped with the music. Simpson then introduced Goldsmith to Chris Birkett, who played and recorded the music and vocals with his mobile recording studio. Goldsmith was able to sing on the same microphone as all his famous artists, including Led Zeppelin.

The multi-instrumentalist credits her established and talented tenure in the theatre world. Goldsmith has 13 stage musicals notched under her belt and also appears in the forthcoming indie short slated for the upcoming film-fest circuit, Sara Snow and the Seven Dancers.

The film was written and directed by award-winning 14-year-old Barrie resident Arianna Grace Goarley. It will be released this fall and is set to appear at several film festivals.

Goldsmith says she had fun shooting the Shine music video alongside her four friends and dancers, Bella, Isla, Lyrik and Madison, and creative team Noah Hollinshead and Goarley. The music video was filmed in Stroud and in Barrie at Moving Art Centre for Performing Arts. Goldsmith performs in their Senior Triple Threat program.

She has been taking vocal lessons from Margot Hamilton of The Melody In Me in Barrie since 2016 and has represented Barrie at the provincial level for both classical voice and musical theatre vocals. She also plays piano and clarinet.

Shine is now available on all streaming outlets. Watch the music video on YouTube by clicking here
