Theatre Georgian Bay will be bringing the famous and tragic tale of two households and the grudge between them to fair Collingwood this summer.

The local company returns with its Bard on the Bay production for 2022: Romeo and Juliet

Featuring professional and community actors from the area, Theatre Georgian Bay's production will be 90 minutes, family-friendly, and equal parts comedy and tragedy.

The Bard on the Bay series began with a production of Twelfth Night, then A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You Like It, and A Comedy of Errors. Each has been staged at the Collingwood Shipyard Amphitheatre in a pay-what-you-wish format.

"The collective is ecstatic to be returning to the amphitheatre with Romeo and Juliet to reconnect with familiar audience members and welcome new ones alike," states a news release from Theatre Georgian Bay.

Romeo and Juliet runs for a total of 10 performances between July 25 and Aug. 1.
