The following letter from Barrie-Innisfil MP John Brassard is in response to 'LETTER: MP urged to intervene, turn safety lights back on,' published Feb. 15.

While I appreciate the concerns expressed in a recent letter to the editor by Seaghan Hancocks, it’s important to understand that it is the municipality who is responsible for the safety lights in question.

I would therefore suggest that the local councillor or mayor be contacted. Council and the mayor are very responsive and would have no issue providing an explanation and listening to solutions.

In Barrie-Innisfil and Ottawa, I am equally responsive as the member of Parliament on issues of federal concern like the inflation and housing affordability/attainability crisis gripping our communities and our nation. I’m working hard to axe the carbon tax, build homes, fix the budget, and stop the crime.

I invite anyone who needs help with federal matters to reach out to my office by e-mail [email protected] or by phone 705-726-5959 and my staff and I would be glad to help if we are able to.
