LETTER: City hall, police need to step up on noisy vehicles

I am trying to get support from council to find a solution to noisy cars.

The police are unwilling to fix the problem; their solution is to hire a paid-duty officer.

There seems to be no officers that want to work and the problems get worse because people do not think they will get charged and they laugh at the police.

Even now, almost no one stops at a stop sign because they are not worried about getting charged. You would think that with 218 officers more can be done, but I guess we need to get things like photo radar and stop-light equipment to enforce the laws as the police cost is very expensive and does not work.

Maybe council can make sales and installation of noisy mufflers against a bylaw.

Noisy cars do not go any faster than quiet ones.
