A Memorial to our brother Ron.

Ronald E. Carter, a beloved figure in the Barrie community, passed away peacefully at Simcoe Hospice on January 11, 2023. He leaves a legacy of love, commitment, and community spirit.Ron is mourned by his daughters Rhonda (Burton) and Lesli-Allyn and his adored granddaughter Sijuan. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Ann and his parents George Edgar and Dorothy Helene. His life is also celebrated by his brother Larry John (Lorraine), sister Barbara Lynn (Ron - deceased), sister-in-law Linda (Ross - deceased), and his nieces and nephews.Ron dedicated over 40 years to DeVilbiss in Barrie, progressing from the marketing department to the sales department, where he was highly respected. His professional achievements were paralleled by his deep commitment to his community. He volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society for more than 30 years, making a significant impact.An avid sportsman, Ron was a member of the Barrie Golf and Country Club for over 30 years and passionately involved in the Barrie Curling Club. His love for curling was well-known and he spent many joyful years participating in the sport. He also had seasons tickets to the Colt’s games for many years and rarely missed a game. Their group in the stands was referred to as the Red Hats.Ron's routine walks around the Bay in Barrie were a testament to his love for nature and staying active. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.Ron Carter’s memory will be cherished for his kindness, his dedication to his community, and the joy he brought to his family and friends. Rest in peace Ron.
