Loblaw Companies Ltd. has confirmed two new COVID-19 cases in the region at stores in Barrie and Orillia.
As reported on the company's website today, Loblaws says that a Zehrs employee at their Cundles Road East location in Barrie tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. The last day the person worked at the local store was Dec. 26.
At the Coldwater Road store in Orillia, a positive presumptive case was reported on the company's website Dec. 27. The last day that employee worked was Dec. 18.
The recent Orillia case follows a positive case from Dec. 10. That employee last worked Dec. 7.
Other recent cases at Loblaws stores in the area include Loblaws at 472 Bayfield St., in Barrie. That case was reported Dec. 8 and the employee who tested positive last worked Dec. 4.
The Collingwood Loblaws store has conducted "deep cleans" after six employees tested positive for COVID-19 between late November and Dec. 7.
