The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases in Simcoe County today, including two youth under 18.
Five new Barrie cases were announced today: one case in a 45-to-64-year-old male, which was community acquired, also included was a 35-to-44-year-old male, a 35-to-44-year-old female, an 18-to-34-year-old female, and a female under 18.
Six new cases in Bradford West Gwillimbury were reported as part of today’s update, two 18-34 year old males, two 35-44 year old males, a 45-64 year old male and a female under 18.
New Tecumseth has two new cases: a 45-64 year old female and an 18-34 year old female.
Clearview Township had two new cases, an 18-34 year old female and a 45-64 year old male.
Two new cases were reported in Innisfil: an 18-34 year old male, and a 35-44 year old male, source listed as community-acquired.
One case in Springwater was reported in a female between the ages of 18 to 34.
One Muskoka Lakes case was reported in an 18-34 year old female, with the source listed as a close contact.
The sources for 16 of the cases is still under investigation.
One case previously assigned to Barrie was re-assigned to Bradford West-Gwillimbury upon closer examination of the case address data, and one case previously assigned to Adjala-Tosorontio was removed as it was re-assigned to another public health unit.
Five cases previously reported as acquired through travel were re-assigned to close contact upon further examination of the data.
Neither the Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic School Board nor the Simcoe County District School Board has reported any new school-related cases today.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 912 cases of COVID-19. There are now 778 cases listed as recovered. There are no hospitalizations reported on the health unit website. Thirty-eight people have died.
