15 new COVID cases in Simcoe County today

Nine of today's cases are seniors from New Tecumseth who are part of the outbreak at Simcoe Manor; There is one new case in Barrie today

The region's health unit has confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19 today, nine of which are related to the current outbreak at Simcoe Manor long-term care home in Beeton. 

Today's confirmed cases include six women and two men over 80 from New Tecumseth and a man between 65 and 79 years old from New Tecumseth, and all related to the outbreak at Simcoe Manor.

Yesterday, the county confirmed there were 16 residents and six staff at Simcoe Manor who had tested positive for COVID-19. 

One resident has died with COVID-19. 

There is a single new case in Barrie today. A woman between 18 and 34 years old has contracted COVID-19 through close contact with another case. 

In Essa, a man between 45 and 64 has also tested positive. His was a case of community transmission. 

There is a new case under investigation in Tay – the first reported in the Township since July 23. The individual is a man between 45 and 64 years old. 

There is a new case in Bradford West Gwillimbury. A woman between 18 and 34 has tested positive, and the transmission source is under investigation. 

There is an additional case in New Tecumseth also included in today's list, a woman between 35 and 44 years old, but her transmission is under investigation. 

The final case reported today is a woman between 35 and 44 from Innisfil. In her case, the transmission source is still under investigation.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 956 cases of COVID-19. There are now 835 cases listed as recovered. There are 76 unrecovered cases in Simcoe County. There are no hospitalizations reported on the health unit website. Thirty-nine people have died.
