Green Party of Ontario leader Mike Schreiner will visit Barrie-Innisfil on Thursday, Sept. 19 as part of his provincial leader’s tour with message for clean and caring economy.

The event is being held in the main hall at the Allandale Recreational Centre. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the event, which runs from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

He will meet with the public and supporters of Bonnie North’s campaign in the upcoming federal election, as a wave of Green enthusiasm sweeps across the country.

With climate change on everyone’s minds, Schreiner will bring a message of optimism that Greens can deliver the solutions we need by embracing the $26 trillion global clean economy — creating jobs in areas like renewable energy, transit, advanced manufacturing, sustainable forestry, local food and farming and more.

Schreiner’s effectiveness at Queen’s Park has translated into Green growth and popularity in Ontario, which is typically dominated by status-quo parties.

He will reflect on his first year at the Ontario legislature and the difference that just a single Green can make through bold ideas and a willingness to work across party lines.

“With climate deadlines fast approaching, this election is our last chance to send a group of Green MPs to Ottawa who will put the livability of our planet at the top of the agenda. We’ve proven that Greens can win in Ontario and I know we can translate this to the federal level." — Mike Schreiner

“One of the most enjoyable privileges of living in Barrie-Innisfil is our access to Lake Simcoe and the important wetlands and other natural spaces of our area. As the Green Party of Canada MP candidate for Barrie-Innisfil, I’m committed to protecting our region’s fresh water, vital farmlands and wilderness areas. Your Green vote is your chance to make your voice heard in
Ottawa. Now is the time to make it happen.” — Bonnie North, Green Party of Canada candidate, Barrie-Innisfil
