City clerk certifies candidate list for 2022 municipal election

Finalized list includes name and date of nomination filing, as well as other contact information provided by candidate

The list of candidates running in the 2022 municipal elections has now been certified by the city clerk and is available at www.barrie.ca/Election.

The list of certified candidates includes the name and date of nomination filing, as well as other contact information (address, email, social media) as provided by the candidate.

Certified candidates are invited to an information session on Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. to learn more about the voting process, campaign rules and other important information in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, and City of Barrie policies, procedures and bylaws. This session will be held virtually and in person in the Council Chambers, second floor of Barrie City Hall, 70 Collier St. Certified candidates will be emailed information on how to register.

Voting in Barrie’s 2022 municipal election will be done online or by phone. All residences will receive a voter information letter in the mail the first week in October. Each letter contains an individual voter pin number and instructions for voting. Residents who have not received the letter in the mail, should call 705-728-8683 (VOTE) or email [email protected]. Voting will begin on Oct. 14, 2022, at 10 a.m., with the final voting day on Oct. 24, 2022 until 8 p.m.
