Save money, save energy with spring window renovations

Barrie business leads the way in quality, service and efficiency

It’s the time of year when homeowners are thinking of window replacements.  For some, it is the promise of spring and the release from hibernation. For others, it’s the chance to reduce their carbon footprint. And everyone looks forward to lowering those heating bills.

Local window renovation experts Nordik Windows & Doors (formerly Northern Comfort) is revolutionizing the replacement window industry with a winning combination of exceptional products, value, service and a dedication to supporting a greener Canada.  The Canadian-owned company boasts the highest number of PVC windows designated as ‘most energy efficient’ on the Government of Canada’s list of energy-efficient products.

Industry-Leading Microcellular PVC

Nordik Windows & Doors was the first company in Canada to manufacture and sell Microcellular PVC windows directly to Canadians. Their new solid-core RevoCell® window is made with microcellular PVC (mPVC) containing billions of microscopic cells to provide a stronger structure and guarantee better efficiency. This product has been named ‘Most Energy Efficient’ for 2021 by Energy Star. But for Thomas Noël, Nordik’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources, the real success story is the company’s ability to provide excellent products and exceptional value. “We are proud to make this elite product accessible to homeowners. Through research, we are able to provide a good value product at a very reasonable price.”

Noël adds that these products provide ongoing value by enabling homeowners to enjoy reduced energy bills, and may also qualify for government rebates for retrofits in older homes.

Service that Redefines the Industry

Although Nordik Windows is known for its custom-made windows, the company considers itself, first and foremost, a service organization.  “Integrity is a core value at Nordik”, explains Noël. “We’re trying to change the industry with more integrity. We don’t have gimmicks.” Indicative of this core value is Nordik’s promise to treat every customer with honesty and professionalism, and to stand behind their products with easy-to-understand guarantees. At the new Barrie location, this commitment extends to former Northern Comfort customers as well. “We will continue to honour those warranties whenever possible”.

Commitment to a Greener Canada

In addition to continuously striving to create more energy-efficient products, in January 2021, Nordik Windows began a partnership project with Tree Canada. The company pledges to plant a tree for every window manufactured and sold by Earth Day on April 22, 2021. As of March 5th, the company committed to planting over 3,000 trees.

Since 1982, Nordik Windows has been delivering the best value possible to its customers. Nordik operates sales and service branches in Barrie, Ottawa, Mississauga, Toronto (GTA) and Hamilton and operates a window manufacturing plants in Ottawa. The company has recently joined forces with Mastertech Doors and pledges to increase their custom-built, energy-efficient door production in the new 26,000 square foot Hamilton facility, using Mastertech doors across Ontario.
