Do you have a high school-aged child who is dreading the start of the school year? Were you unhappy with your child’s school experience last year? Were your child’s grades not where you had expected they should be? Is your child a homeschooler who is looking for high school options?

Simcoe County now has a new private school for high school students: Convoy International Secondary Academy. Principal Dr. Wesley Davis explained: “We opened three or four years ago, as a boarding school mainly for international students. Now, with a newly renovated and larger main building, we have room to expand to local day students as well.”

Convoy International Secondary Academy (CISA) provides a range of courses from advanced mathematics to entrepreneurship, and music, French, and art. Graduates obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, opening up their post secondary options to the college or university of their choice.

“The campus is located in Essa, on 22 acres of land, right opposite the Tiffin Conservation Centre,” said Dr. Davis. “We have access to hiking, snowshoeing, skating, cross country and downhill skiing, all right out our front door. The students have wonderfully full and multi-faceted days of programming and activities.”

Dr. Davis added that Convoy International keeps class sizes very small, capping them at a maximum of ten students. “Once you go above ten, it’s difficult to cater to each child’s individual learning style, and learning will suffer,” he said.

CISA attaches great importance to the student’s extracurricular activities as well as academic programming. In addition to the physical activities described above, CISA has a partnership with the Hockey Training Institute (HTI) boys and girls ice hockey team, which recruits members from Canada, the United States, Australia, Russia, and other European countries each year. CISA has renovated its sports facilities and is installing a golf driving range on-site.

“Several of our students have received full scholarships to D1 schools, and last year we sent our first student to Yale University,” said Dr. Davis. “Another relevant fact? 100% of our students have been admitted to college or university after graduating, and 80% of those received full or partial scholarships.”

Convoy International is offering a special introductory rate to local Simcoe County day students: just $6,000 for tuition fees for the whole year (eight courses). This offer has been extended until the first day of school on September 5th, so get in touch with the school today to see what they can do for your child.

“When you join Convoy International Secondary Academy, you are welcomed like family, and our small class sizes ensure your child’s social, emotional, and mental health is supported just as much as their academics,” said Dr. Davis.
