It’s always bittersweet when something exceptionally wonderful has to come to an end. That’s especially true for the developers of Braestone Estates, who have recently announced the availability of the eighth and final phase of their award-winning country estate community.

“It is bittersweet to see it coming to an end,” said Kyle Eldridge, Marketing Coordinator for Georgian Communities, a subsidiary of Georgian International and builders of the 566-acre country estate community inspired by the rolling hills and lush countryside of the Oro-Medonte region of Horseshoe Valley.

“It’s our flagship community. We’re truly proud of what it has become and what it will be once it’s complete. We’ve been awarded both on the provincial and national stage for the community and we’re overjoyed with how it’s turned out.”

The Braestone Estates project started with a stroll along the rolling hills, or “the brae” in Gaelic. While experiencing the spectacular beauty of its working farm, the lush valley, the ancient woodlots and green rolling hills, the company began to envision something completely unique – a homestead community built with reverence and respect for the land it comes from, all designed around a 108-acre working farm and supported by pastoral Remarkable amenities.

Fast forward two-decades later and the initial vision has evolved into a country estate community unlike anything in Canada. Recognition for the project came quickly.

First, came the award for Best Low Rise Sales Office in Canada, for Braestone’s Discovery Centre, now a picturesque and architecturally stunning space overlooking the pond and horse paddocks. Then came the prestigious Community of the Year Award from the Canadian Home Builders’ Association.

The eighth and final phase promise to be equally successful. It will feature a uniquely private enclave of just 16 homesteads located on Friesian Court. Residents will enjoy convenient access to all of Braestone’s Remarkables while living on a quiet, secluded cul-de-sac.

“It’s very exclusive and just slightly separate from the current community but will be fully inclusive to the rest of the neighbourhood,” said Eldridge. “For example, residents will enjoy full access to the farm and a trail system that starts right at your door. It’s the best of both worlds. There’s very little traffic but there’s access to everything that makes the Braestone Estates community so special.”

While all information on the new 16 homestead development are available on the company website, Eldridge suggests interested buyers visit the Discovery Centre to get an intimate look at the property.

“It’s really the best way to envision life at Braeston. The pictures are remarkable, but really walking the land, taking your own site tour with our sales executive, and experiencing the Braestone Farm first hand is definitely the best way to take it in. With the great amenities that Horseshoe Valley offers, the world-class golfing and dining at Braestone Club, the skiing, the new Vetta Spa, it’s really a four seasons destination and a great way of life.”
