The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision on Penetanguishene Road in Oro-Medonte.
On July 15, 2020 shortly before 4:00 p.m. the Orillia OPP were called to Penetanguishene Road West of Horseshoe Valley Road and East of Highway 400 with reports of a serious collision.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there was a collision between a vehicle and trailer. As a result of the collision a 30-year-old female was air lifted to a Toronto area hospital, by Air ORNGE, with life threatening injuries. Two children were brought to a Barrie hospital by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services (CSPS) as a precaution.
OPP Central Region Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are on the scene to piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision. Penetanguishene Road will be closed in the area while the investigation is on-going.
Police are asking if anyone witnessed this or has dash cam footage during, before or after the incident to please contact the Orillia OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
The investigation is continuing and more information will be released as it is made available.
