Vehicle dives into ditch, impaired charges follow

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at approximately 7:19 pm, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle into the ditch on Concession Road 3, near 5 Sideroad of Tosorontio Township.  

When officers arrived, a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck was located in the ditch.

Through further police investigation it was determined that the lone female driver had been consuming alcohol and she was arrested. The female had minor injuries from the collision but was cleared at the scene by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services.  

Caitlin Fitzpatrick, age 19, of New Tecumseth Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

The 90-Day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and the vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and will attend a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford.
