INNISFIL - On Saturday, March 31, 2018 around 1:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service was called by the Innisfil Fire Department to attend a possible structure fire at 3985 4th Line between County Rd. 27 and 5 Sideroad in Innisfil.
The scene is an abandoned farm property on the south side of the 4th Line just east of Thor College. A large, locked metal gate is at the end of the laneway at the road.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with thick smoke and visible flames. Two significant piles of debris were found burning near the house and barn.
Strong winds were causing the fire to spread east across the grass in front of the barn and had the blaze not been extinguished when it was, firefighters said the entire barn structure would have become engulfed in flames.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle parked outside the gate around 12:30 p.m. Two males were observed walking toward the structures on the property. About 30 to 40 minutes later, witnesses saw flames and smoke coming from the property and called 9-1-1. At that time, the two men and the vehicles were gone.
South Simcoe Police Service is seeking the public's help in identifying the suspects and/or the vehicle.
The vehicle is described as a small, dark-coloured two-door hatchback type vehicle, with tinted windows and a large 3'' tail pipe exhaust
The males are described as white, medium build, between 5'5" and 6' feet tall. One male was wearing a toque or hat, second male was wearing a light coloured sweater with three large horizontal dark blue stripes across the front
