Two people posing as Red Cross workers going door-to-door in Angus, police warn

ESSA TWP. – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information from residents of Angus that on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, there were two females posing as Red Cross workers going door to door asking for donations.  

There was no identification presented to verify that they were actually working for the Red Cross, which Red Cross workers usually carry.

Residents are being asked to be aware of this suspicious activity, and to report incidents of this nature to police at the time of the occurrence.  

The OPP are reminding residents of our communities, that should they encounter this, or similar activity, to ensure that they verify and authenticate that the person(s) soliciting are actually a representative of the organization that they say they represent.
