Two face trafficking charges following Innisfil drug bust

INNISFIL - South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit officers have charged two people with drug possession and trafficking following an investigation in Innisfil.

The nearly two-month investigation culminated on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, when police executed a search warrant at an address in the 7th Line and Webster Boulevard area. A quantity of suspected cocaine and fentanyl was seized. Two people were arrested.

Forty-nine-year-old Catherine Bodanis and 56-year-old Kalman Szalay were charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking (two counts)
    •    Possession suspected cocaine
    •    Possession suspected fentanyl
    •    Trafficking
    •    Possession of a prohibited weapon

The accused were released with a future court date.
