WASAGA BEACH, ON - On July 8, 2017 the OPP Marine unit, OPP patrol officers along with Wasaga Fire and Ontario Park Wardens responded to a 911 call for two missing males last seen in the water at the mouth of the Nottawasaga River.  

The water and land search lasted for approximately one hour. 

Conditions at the time of the search included wave swells exceeding 2 metres. 

Tragically the search ended when the missing males were located in the water. The two men were not wearing PFD's when they were removed from the water. 

Despite CPR efforts by emergency responders, the two males were pronounced deceased. The deaths are not suspicious. Alcohol is not a factor.   

Both men were in their twenties. One male was from Collingwood, ON the other from Caledon, ON.
