Transport truck crashes through median on Hwy. 400 near Essa Rd.

No injuries following crash in northbound lanes through Barrie

Emergency crews are on scene at Highway 400 near Essa Road in Barrie after a transport truck went through the median barrier on Tuesday morning. 

The crash happened in the northbound lanes. All lanes have since reopened. 

No injuries were reported, according to OPP. 

Police say there have been whiteout conditions due to snow squalls in the area and ask motorists to drive with caution.

South of Barrie, there was also a collision in Innisfil on Tuesday afternoon which involved between eight and 10 vehicles in the southbound lanes, south of Innisfil Beach Road. OPP say the vehicles have been cleared to the nearby service centre.

Police also advise there may be wet and slick road conditions in the area. 

North of Barrie, OPP were also on scene today after a tractor-trailer went off the road on Highway 11 northbound near Stevenson Road 12 in the Huntsville area. The truck was loaded with alcohol. No injuries were reported. The crash happened early this morning.
