Traffic stop leads to charges for driver

A local resident faces numerous driving related offences after the vehicle she was operating was stopped by an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offence.

On Nov. 23 2018, an officer was on patrol on Highway 7 when a vehicle with an expired permit was observed and subsequently stopped. The ensuing investigation resulted in Amanda Dumoulin, 39 years of age, of Emily Township being charged with the following offences:

  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the HTA
  • Drive motor vehicle - No currently validated permit, contrary to the HTA
  • Driver fail to give identification, contrary to the HTA

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Jan. 14, 2019.
