Tortoise, lemur and monkey stolen from Elmvale Zoo

Suspect(s) entered the zoo by cutting a hole in the fence

SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP - On May 29, 2018 members of the Huronia West OPP responded to a Break and Enter at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo in Springwater Township. 

The suspect(s) stole three animals including an 18 inch tortoise, a black and white Lemur and a black Gibbon monkey. The value of the stolen animals is over $20,000.

The initial investigation has revealed the suspect(s) entered the zoo sometime between 10 p.m. on May 28 and 6:30 a.m. on May 29. The suspect(s) entered the zoo by cutting a hole in the fence which could have been observed by vehicles travelling on County Road 27 in Springwater Township. 

After cutting a hole in the chain link fence, the suspect(s) walked through the flamingo pond corral and gained access to the stolen animals after that.

You can submit your information online or if you have any information on this crime or any other crime. Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous. Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.
