Stolen Pizza
In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 8, 2015, 12:02 a.m., police received a call to attend the area of 331 Bayfield Street, Barrie in regards to a Robbery.
The complaint, a 17-year-old Barrie male said that he purchased a large pizza for his family from the Pizza Pizza located at the above address. The complaint said that on his way home he was approached by three males and one female who demanded he had over his pizza. When he refused he told police that the group 'jumped' him and threw his pizza on the ground.
The complaint said that he suffered no injuries and the group left, without the pizza, when the complaint said he was going to call police. He was unable to give a clear description of the suspects.
The complaint returned home with 7 pieces of pizza, missing where 4 slices that allegedly were on the ground in the parking lot.
Police searched the area and found no evidence nor suspects. Police are questioning the validity of the complaint and the report of a robbery. This may in fact be a case of public mischief.
Impaired By Drug
Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 1:43 p.m., officers received two separate calls from motorists who had concerns over a female driving a Silver CX7 car within our City.
The driver exited the 400 northbound at Duckworth Street and continued along Georgian Drive near the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. A witness observed the female driving all over the road and cutting people off. The female driver stopped for a green light at Georgian College and continued driving straight, not stopping for a red light at Gallie Court and Georgian Drive. The female started driving on the opposite side of the road where she finally stopped. One of the witnesses stood by and waited for Police as there was a concern for the safety of other motorists.
When Police arrived they determined that the female was Impaired by Drug. She was taken to the RVRHC where a blood test was taken. The 36 year-old Barrie female was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She will answer to these charges in November, Barrie Court.
Police would like to thank the quick actions of witnesses in alerting officers to this dangerous situation.
This Thanksgiving weekend Operational Services Officers and the Traffic Unit will be out in full strength to keep our roads safe.
