Three face serious weapons, drug charges after vehicle stop

The driver was found to be violating his conditions of release from another police investigation

A member of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police entered into a criminal investigation after stopping a vehicle while conducting traffic patrol at 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 27, 2019.

The vehicle stop occurred on Highway 93 in the Village of Wyebridge after the officer observed the vehicle committing a traffic violation.

Upon speaking with the driver and two passengers it was learned that the driver was violating his conditions of release from another police investigation. Further investigation of the vehicle and it's interior resulted in the discovery and seizure of an insecure firearm as well as a quantity cash and drugs believed to be purple heroin at the scene.

As a result the vehicle was seized and towed from the scene and the vehicle occupants were arrested at the scene and transported to Southern Georgian Bay Detachment for further investigation.

Charged are the following persons with their attached charges.

Driver - Margues R. Jacksonn, 22 years of no fixed address:

  • Fail to comply with recognizance
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - heroin

contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Possess licence while prohibited
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario

  • Fail to surrender insurance card

contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

Passenger - Livia-Scarlett C. Gouveia 20 years of Scarborough:

  • Possesion of a schedule I substance - Heroin

contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

  • CC 145(3) fail to comply with recognizance
  • Poss of a schedule I substance - heroin
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

Passenger - Nashon Paterson-Matthews, 22 years of Scarborough

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - heroin

contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition order
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused parties were all held in custody to appear before the Barrie Bail court on Oct. 28, 2019
