Threats against Bradford student a hoax, say police

On Friday, June 21, South Simcoe Police were notified after a student at an elementary school observed a disturbing post on social media.

A person portraying himself as another student was threatening to attend the school and injure students.

Through investigation, officers were able to identify the person responsible for the making the social media post.

Officers are now satisfied the message was posted as a hoax and the person responsible never intended to carry out the threat.

As a precaution, the school did send home a message to parents in the afternoon.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
