Teen charged after car hits two houses in Orillia

Driver sustained minor injuries in Wednesday morning's incident

A 17-year-old girl is facing charges after a vehicle struck two houses Wednesday morning in Orillia.

Shortly after 8 a.m., Orillia OPP responded to a report of a car having struck a house on Colborne Street West.

The vehicle came to a stop at a house across the road.

Police and paramedics responded and the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, from Rama First Nation, has been charged with careless driving and being unaccompanied by a qualified driver while holding a G1 licence.

The driver’s name cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
