Suspect faces multiple charges following convenience store robbery

On Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at 2:16 p.m., Barrie police attended a Dunlop Street East convenience store after receiving a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, the suspect, a 37-year-old male of no fixed address, was observed walking westbound on Dunlop Street East and was taken into custody a short distance away. He was transported to Barrie Police Headquarters and was subsequently held for a bail hearing.

The accused is facing charges that include robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resist peace, carry concealed weapon and three counts of fail to comply with probation.
