Stolen pickup leads police to around $8,500 in crystal meth, cocaine, fentanyl

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 26, Barrie police observed a stolen pickup truck parked at a hotel on Essa Road.

The investigation led officers to a hotel room where two suspects were located and arrested. Also located was a large amount of crystal meth, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with several knives which were determined to be prohibited weapons.

A 31-year-old Barrie male was charged with:

  • 3 counts Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • 3 counts Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000
  • Possession Prohibited Weapon
  • 4 counts of Possessing Weapons Contrary to Prohibition Orders

A 38-year-old Barrie female was charged with:

  • 3 counts Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000
  • Possession Prohibited Weapon

The approximate value of the seized drugs was $8,500. Both parties were held for bail.
